No filter when I pulled my curtains open. Life here beyond the picket fence is unfiltered, as it is in your life too. But we’re socializing ourselves and kids that it’s Instagram worthy, complete with filters, multiple takes and the fear of being real. Can I tell you it’s harming us? Young moms, young adults, teens, preteens, and even midlifers. If you’re struggling with your unfiltered life, everyone else is too. But the unfiltered life is the real life. Some days it’s beautiful, some days it’s boring. Some days it’s sad, and others gut wrenching. As follower of Jesus, my relationship with him is what provides peace, strength and hope in an unfiltered life. I’ve had my share and so do you. Let’s help one another love honestly and healthy in our unfiltered lives.

Doing my thing this week advocating for children, safe spaces, and training church leaders in healthy boundary curriculum for children and youth with Dove’s Nest. I sighed like I was drinking in fresh air when I read this. Thank you @susanhcall for this truth. Friendships like this are life giving. . . I’m challenged to be more connected with others as a human, more of a let’s look each other in the eye and see each other friend or community member. . . I’m on social media (FB) less and less and trying to reach out in person more. . . Our brain is wired for human connection. Our heart is designed for safe spaces. . . Be a safe space to someone.

Last night I made a dream come true by opening my studio for a gathering of women called to ministry in various ways. . I was blessed and overwhelmed as I watched women share their calling, affirm and encourage each other, build new friendships, and pray for one another. . God is truly amazing. He created us for community.
