Do you need hope today? . . If you listen only to the news, you won’t find hope. . . Today I found hope and honest truth from the April 2 entry in Streams in the Desert. It was written almost 100 years ago by a woman who knew hardship, sickness and adversity in a land far from security. . . I’m so thankful for God’s character, his Word, the Bible, and honest encouragement from Christians who have known and lived through hard times. . . We need honest hope and positive truth in our uncertain days. When the negative truth bombards your world, it’s hard to know what tangible hope is. . . I’m reminded each day that the hope I run to is a person, Jesus Christ. He is the peace that no one else provides. . . He is the creator of the sun that rises every morning and the sustainer of our days when other elements seem unstable. His peace is found in the Bible, the words living for today. . . He is on the other side of uncertainty. No matter what, He is there. He doesn’t change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 . . He’s available just as certain as the sunrise. I’m setting my face to the East. Will you join me?

The last week, our college boys have been home. We eat supper together, have conversations, and help each other out. . . I’ve wanted this slower place since they were little. But ballgames, practices, concerts, church events and social gatherings that have pulled us in different directions. . . I’m naturally not a sports girl.
