No filter. The colors strike me. Every shade of black, grey, brown and white . . Life without a filter is this. Many days are filled with sharp contrasts of white and hues of dark, grey, and shadows. . . My platform for several years has been Life Beyond the Picket Fence. Hope beyond the storybook image in areas of life, faith, and parenting. . . . My commitment to you invested in my ministry is a voice that speaks truth and hope in the shadows, a Christianity that’s not more or better, but honest, biblical truth through the Son, Jesus Christ, who is both here in the darkness and on the other side when the sun shines again.

A great day teaching and connecting at Women Doing Theology!! ・・・ @brendayoderspeaks presented today at the Women Doing Theology Conference in Elkhart, Indiana, and fellow HP author Melanie Springer Mock sat in on her session. Such a pleasure to have so many of our authors together! #wdt18

I'm speaking on identity, self-acceptance, and acceptance of others at Women Doing Theology at AMBS Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, on Friday, with a reading of Fledge with other @heraldpress authors Thursday evening. . . Being a parent is the joy of my life, but it's a role I fill. It's not who I am. Neither is it for you. . . Cultivating identity outside of being a mom is essential as your kids get older. . . We women are God's daughters first before anything else.
