I pray we each us will continue to do more.

Beautiful from ⬇️ @hoperaytherapy ・・・ I have taken some time off in the last few weeks to eliminate clutter, organize, and relax. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the giant purging, I let go of some old clothes that I love but no longer fit my lifestyle. One particular studded leather jacket fit so tightly that I wondered why on earth I still have it. Moments after tossing it in the donate pile I figured out why. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have a really fun memory tied to wearing that jacket. I wanted to keep it because it served me well for that one memory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don't need that jacket to remember that fun night, goodness gracious. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some harder things... I also sorted through many old writings, photos, and cards I'd received. More memories with people or even memories of myself at different stages of me life. Letting go of these momentos challenged me to trust myself; to trust my memory bank as the place to hold the tenderness and love from those memories without relying on the paper version of these things to keep the memories alive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I may end up forgetting some of this stuff without the physical reminders with me anymore but oh well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's right: oh well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's important to me to live with a present mind rather than resorting to a reservoir of things to remind me of good stuff that has happened. In letting those things go I chose to update my brain with a few keepsake token "knowings" such as; ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I am loved and cared for and have been for a long time. Lots of cards from caring people showed me this." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ and... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I have had a deep thoughts and serious moments. These old church bulletins with handwritten thoughts about forgiveness and love are examples of some hard emotional work I've done." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ and... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "My life has always been rich with friends in every season. These photos and ticket stubs are the proof." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've already absorbed these things into my heart. Letting go of the paper versions was a joy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #musings #healing

Serving doesn’t always fit into your schedule and you’re not always sure where it will lead. . . This photo was one of the first events @jamellegodlewski and @reason4hope46761 put on several years ago. Both of our ministries have morphed and changed since then. . . I’ve see God move in big ways in my sister’s ministry because of her obedience to Christ in the hardest places. . . I wonder where God is calling you to serve, step out, or step up that doesn’t fit perfectly in your schedule. The gospel never does. Sometimes you just have to do it.
